My mission
I'm Ada, a high school student, artist, and environmental advocate from Northern California. I believe protecting the environment starts with small, intentional steps.This past summer, I traveled to Parismina, a rural town on Costa Rica's Caribbean coast, with Global Ledership Advetures for a service-learning program. There, I worked with ASTOP(Asociación Salvemos las Tortugas Parismina) to protect nesting sea turtles and their hatchlings.Seeing the conservation work up close changed my perspective. I came home motivated to do more, so I designed stickers to raise money for ASTOP in order to continue my support.
About ASTOP
ASTOP is a sea turtle conservation program based in Parismina, Costa Rica. For 25 years, their team has worked to protect nesting sea turtles and their hatchlings from poaching and habitat threats.ASTOP's work goes beyond the beaches of Parismina. Sea turtles are endangered keystone species that keep ocean and coastal ecosystems healthy. In Parismina specifically, ASTOP protects Leatherback, Green, Hawksbill, and Loggerhead turtles.
